{June1989 Grand Opening: My Project Reveal}

I am busting with excitement to finally be able to share with you my secret project!

My daughter Chloe & I have been hard at work, behind the scenes, making preparations for the Grand Opening of our new online jewelry store, June 1989!

Many of my readers may not be aware that I had a son who passed away at the age of eleven in October of 2000. His name was Alex. 
Alex was the inspiration behind my dragonfly blog re-design in November 2010, and you can read more of his story in this post: My Alex, My Dragonfly. 

Alex and Chloe were closer than close. Inseparably two peas in a pod. They not only shared the same parents, but a bond that was established in so few years, unlike anything I had ever seen. Chloe was eight years old when Alex died, and she has missed him everyday since.

Chloe and I have decided to create handmade beaded bracelets in memory of Alex. Alex was born on June 20, 1989, and I cannot be more moved that our company is named June 1989 in his honor.  Each bracelet bears a silver dragonfly charm in memory of him, and every bracelet purchase includes a handmade tag and heartfelt handwritten note, gift wrapped beautifully.


Everyone walks from a different life, everyone has a story to tell, and my painful story resurfaces again, but this time, in a wonderful way. A way I cannot even put into words. A story that was once spoken by me, will continue to be told by my daughter Chloe.

We hope that God continues to give us strength and the wonderful reward of being able to keep Alex's memory alive. From our hearts to your wrist, love lives forever.
