Twitter Tuesday, brought to you by:
I have been a follower of Andrea's blog for quite sometime now. Not only is she originally a fellow Michigan blogger, she's as sweet as pie and has a keen eye for the hottest styles!
Andrea has partnered with Payless Shoes, among other fabulous companies, and I cannot wait to hear more about her recent collaboration with Michael Kors.....holla Home girl!!! Soooo excited for you!
Andrea currently lives in Chicago, and has been blogging at Blonde Bedhead for two years. Andrea's favorite fashion icon is Carolline of Caroline's Mode. "She has an edgy, understated style I love yet, she's always taking risks and I find her incredibly inspiring".
Her two favorite colors or patterns? "I love anything stripes! I also love wearing black and grey, it's safe, but I love dark, muted colors".
Andrea's favorite time of day is "any time of the year as the sun begins to set, great lighting for photography and I always look at the weather with a photographer's eye. Clouds don't bother me because it's easier to photograph in!"
Andrea's favorite way to relax? "shopping relaxes me and as typical as that is for a blogger, it's my favorite past time. I also love reading and watching movies.
Let's learn more about my super sweet Twitter Tuesday Buddy!!
What was your initial goal for your blog when you first began, and how has that changed today?
Andrea: My initial goal was to just casually share my outfits and my own photography. I was hell bent against sponsors and expanding my blog into that territory, but as I began I found it fun and challenging in a new way. It was looking at my blog as a business since it's something I'm passionate about, but my number one focus is still sharing my own personal style and featuring my photography.
Where do you draw your fashion inspiration from?
Andrea: I think subconsciously I draw my inspiration from my dad. He loves music, wears all black, leather and a lot of jewelry and accessories. He's a bad ass.
Describe your style
Andrea: I'd say my style is pretty relaxed, edgy and fuss-free. I love cotton and leather, a crazy heel and anything black. I love to mix in patterns and colors here and there to spice things up, but my go-to outfit is a tee, leather jacket, skinny jeans and sky-high platform boots.
How many hours a day/week do you spend working on your blog?
Andrea: I spend a couple hours a day on average. It's a big commitment!
Where is your favorite place to shop?
Andrea: I love department stores! I can always score great sales and no matter how many online flash sales and online discounts there are, there is nothing more thrilling and rewarding than spotting a sweet item in store in your size and being able to walk out with it and wear it the same day! I also love American Apparel, Zara, Nasty Gal, Lulu's and any vintage shop!
What "must haves" will you be adding to your Fall wardrobe?
Andrea: I'm loving snakeskin right now! I just got some snakeskin shoes, but I'd love to accessorize with more animal prints.
What is your favorite piece of clothing/jewelry and why?
Andrea: My favorite piece of jewelry is a beautiful necklace by friend Merl Kinzie designed (http://www.etsy.com/listing/86217750/reserved-handmade-one-of-a-kind) I snatched it up pretty much as soon as I saw it and I wear it almost everyday. It's the perfect statement piece to add to my understated outfits.
Do you have any advice for new bloggers who are just getting started?
Andrea: Definitely--just have fun! Don't worry about sponsorships, giveaways, or anything like that. Start your blog for the right reason: because you have the passion for whatever you're blogging about. The other stuff will follow. And network, network! Developing relationships with bloggers makes for some of the best friendships, but is also a good way for exposure.
If you have a career besides blogging, what do you do?
Andrea: I'm an account executive for an advertising agency, Band Digital. I'm also a wedding photographer.
Where do you see yourself in 2 years?
Andrea: That's a good question--I don't quite know! I'd love to start working on my master's, continue to do fun projects with my blog and meet new, fun people and work with some more brands/designers I love like Rebecca Minkoff.
Please share with us something we would never guess about you. IE; a favorite hobby, a talent, a quirky habit........
Andrea: As much as I'm a city girl, I love horses and love to go home and visit my parent's hobby farm to ride the horses, visit the goats, play with the dogs and bother the cats.
Thank you so much Andrea, for allowing me to feature you as my Twitter Tuesday Friend:)
