Twitter Tuesday, brought to you by:
I can remember feeling so excited the first time I visited Pam's blog. I was so happy to find a fabulous fashion blogger who was 40ish:)
Pam has done an AWESOME job showing her loyal readers that fashion and life do not stop after 40! Shes super savvy, has one of the kindest hearts I know, and is loved by her readers near and far!
Let's learn more about my super sweet Twitter Tuesday Buddy!!
Pam: My initial goal was to inspire and encourage women over 50 to get out of the doldrums of middle age and have fun living. I realized at age 50 that I was in a rut. I had given up and I will even go so far as to say, that I had lost “me.” That was almost eight years ago. Since
then I went through a REINVENTION process and I was encouraged by my
friends to share that process with others and begin a blog. The original
mission for the blog has not changed. In fact, readers have given me so much feedback about the help they have received. This has just lit a fire under me to go forward with great determination. It is so much fun and I love the relationships I have made through the blog. I think we have a cool movement growing of 50+ women with attitude, strength and dignity!!
Visit Pam's blog and give her a shout out....I'm sure you'll think she is super fab too!!!!
Pam currently lives in San Antonio, TX and has been blogging at Over 50 Feeling 40 since July, 2010.
Pam's favorite colors are purple & olive green, but she has many favorites!.
Pam thinks she should have been named DIANE when asked about her favorite fashion icon......….she loves Diane Von Furstenberg with her classy and creative
designs; and she also love the styles of Diane Keaton!
Pam's favorite time of day is in the morning. She rises with a "let's get it done" attitude.
Pam's favorite way to relax? "I practice the THREE Cs PLAN of RELAXATION: coffee, candles, and a chic flick (can also be a classic book)"
Let's learn more about my super sweet Twitter Tuesday Buddy!!
What
was your initial goal for your blog when you first began, and how has
that changed today?
Where do you draw your fashion inspiration from?
Pam: Since I became a blogger, my inspiration comes mostly from other blogs. There are so many ways I am inspired…fashion magazines, fashion television shows, the beauty of creation, various forms of art and women I admire. But, blogs are the best way to find women like me and see what they are doing.
Describe your style
Pam: I hope my style is creative, dignified, classy, and strong. I desire to reflect confidence with who I am…right now…at 57 years old, a teacher, a mom, a wife, a writer, a blogger, a friend….right where I am. I love edgy and youthful, but it has to be with class and appropriate for all of those hats I wear. When someone sees me, I hope they see a confident, classy, strong woman wearing a smile.
How many hours a day/week do you spend working on your blog?
Pam: Well, I am torn….I feel like I work too much on it and again I feel like I do not work enough on it!! I think other bloggers will understand that feeling. I currently think I give it one to two hours a day total. But I am very busy with my own life at this moment. Next year, we will be the infamous empty nest and I have some plans to ramp it up and give it more time. The disadvantage which holds me back often is that I have so much to learn about technology and thus far, I am self- taught. I need time to learn!

Where is your favorite place to shop?
Pam: This seems to be changing for me as I lose weight. For years, it has been Lane Bryant, Avenue, and Coldwater Creek. But, now that I am losing weight, a whole new world has opened up to me and I love it! I just made my first purchase EVER at Ann Taylor. I also have purchased an amazing outfit for my daughter’s wedding and I will be blogging about this designer later in June…look for it…the fit of her designs are incredible.

What "must haves" will you be adding to
your Spring wardrobe?
Pam: Events in my life have determined the shopping budget!! Most of the spring money went to the wedding attire for the rehearsal and the wedding . But, since I lost weight (27 pounds to date), I am in desperate need of bottoms that fit. So, what I will add first over the next few months are skirts and pants. Currently, my blog features me in many oversized looks, just because I do not have the money to replace it all at once. I am excited to see how the pants I have ordered from Ann Taylor fit. It is frustrating to wait…but patience is a virtue.
What is your favorite piece of
clothing/jewelry and why?
Pam: My favorite piece of clothing right this minute is my pair of jeggings!! I feel skinny and trendy in them. Every time I wear them, I get compliments. I have so many ways to style them. I love jewelry so it is hard to pick just one!!

Do you have any advice for new bloggers who
are just getting started?
Pam I
think it helps to have a goal or a mission for your blog so that you
understand why you are there, have a target audience to seek out, and
have direction with blog decisions. Also, don’t get discouraged in the beginning when traffic is slow…perseverance will pay off.
If you have a career besides blogging, what do you do?
Where do you see yourself in 2 years?
Pam: I had to stop and ponder this one a moment. I would love to have a viable income with writing and speaking. I love teaching journalism and will probably always do that, but the real fun for me is with freelance writing and speaking engagements. ….also, maybe someday, over50feeling40 will be a television or radio show!! Who knows? So far, the blog has grown faster than I imagined it could….such fun!
