Twitter Tuesday, brought to you by:
I am sooo fortunate to have so many wonderful and sharing blogger friends. I met Anika through one of my bestest buddies ever, Bella @ The Citizens Rosebud.
It was no surprise that I instantly fell in love with Anika once I visited her blog. She is one of the kindest, most down to earth bloggers I know. She has a special heart to go along with her fabulous fashion sense. Anika appeals to everyone, not just one group of readers. She is open and honest, and writes her blog as if she were talking to a lifelong friend next door. She is that adorable:)
Stop by Anika's blog and see what I mean......you will soon be calling her "friend" too:)
Anika currently lives in Oslo, Norway and has been blogging at By Anika since January, 2010.
Anika currently loves the colors white and rust.
Anika's  fashion icon isher english Grandmother, hands down.
"This woman is all style, she is closer to 90 years old now, and still rocks her signature black and white fashion, short fabulous silvery hair, silver accessories and black cane to match. She wouldn`t say so herself, but she is very elegant in a chic and unromantic way.  I remember my grandmother telling me about how she had struggled all her life to be even slimmer then she is, and how that had been such a waste when she could have spent her energy otherwise. That really stuck with me. So did the fact that for my 18th birthday she gave me the complete works of Jane Austen and a box of condoms.
As you understand, style and personality is very closely connected to me, be it my grandmother or anyone else who knows themselves and isn't afraid to show it."
Anika's favorite way to relax is listening to music and dancing. It makes her forget her troubles:)

Let's learn more about my super sweet Twitter Tuesday Buddy!!

What was your initial goal for your blog when you first began, and how has that changed today?
Anika: My initial goal when I began blogging was to give my self a creative outlet. I have been sewing my own clothes for years, and starting a fashion blog seemed like a good next step. I felt quite brave doing it because I am curvy. Today blogging has become a great passion of mine. I am very focused in my blogging. I am determined that my readers will feel good about them selves after reading my blog, I am determined to keep challenging my self fashionwise, and I am determined to start selling my designs via my blog in the not too distant future.

Where do you draw your fashion inspiration from?
Anika: I am inspired by everything around me. I take a lot of inspiration from people watching, fellow bloggers, a colour, a texture, a building, you name it. To me feeling inspired is about feeling connected and staying open minded. I am always ready to be inspired, always curious, always ready to look at something from a different angle. I feel blessed that I have such a strong creative streak in me, it brings me such happiness.  Feeling inspired a lot can be a tad unpractical though; I have so many ideas for new dresses that I have to write them all down each night so I can calm down and go to sleep.
Describe your style
AnikaMy style is Bold Eclectic Chic with sass and soul – designed By Anika.
How many hours a day/week do you spend working on your blog?
There are not enough hours in the day, let`s just start there. I do try to balance my blogging with the rest of my life, but I do spend about 30 hours working on my blog and  connecting with other bloggers a week. Some days I will be at it all day, and then others I will take a break completely. It keeps me from feeling burned out with blogging. Also, I have a tentative shedule for my blogging as I do like to post three times a week, which helps me plan and divide my time between posting and reading blogs. That said, I make a point of not putting pressure on my self. If I don`t have time to post I don`t, and I feel my content is not strong enough I let the post go. It is very important for me to stay connected with my readers and with the wonderful blogging communities I am fortunate to be a part of, so I spend most of my time online showing my loves for all of the wonderful blogs out there.
Where is your favorite place to shop?
My favourite designer is the Danish genius that is Malene Birger. I do do a lot of shopping at H&M because I like their playful approach to fashion. Mostly though, I wear my own designs.
What "must haves" will you be adding to your Spring wardrobe?
Anika: A couple of months back I was so desperate for spring to arrive that I started sewing dresses for spring inspired by my fave trends . My absolute must have this spring is a colour blocking-dress. So far I have sewn three, and will start my fourth tomorrow!
What is your favorite piece of clothing/jewelry and why?
My favourite piece of clothing is a bonkers olive leopard dress that I got last year.  The printed dress is loud and flaunts my curvy figure. I absolutely adore it because I feel so good in it. That is the thing about being plus sized, at least for me, it is not like no one can see me, so there is no point in hiding. Might as well go for a loud dress and a confident sway of the hips.
Do you have any advice for new bloggers who are just getting started?
Anika: My advice would be to take some time to understand your own voice as a blogger. What are you passionate about? What does it mean for you to "do you"? As bloggers we know that it is all about original content and keeping it real, so if you are a new blogger I would start there. Blogging is very challenging on many levels, but thankfully there are lot`s of amazing bloggers around who have posted great tutorials and created supporting communities, so if you are new to blogging I would encourage you to dare to reach out and connect with fellow bloggers. Lastly my advice would be, believe in your self. Don`t give up
If you  have a career besides blogging, what do you do?
Anika: I am putting my Masters in Special Needs Education (psychology / multicultural pedagogy/ learning disabilities) to good use as a counselor at a middle level school, working with teens at risk and their families. I also give lectures on my field, specifically a project that I am working on, dealing with how to empower teenage girls who display violent behavior and their families.
Where do you see yourself in 2 years?
This year I plan on going back to college, and if everything goes as planned in two years I will be finishing up a degree. In terms of my blog I hope to still be blogging away.

Thank you so much Anika, for allowing me to feature you as my Twitter Tuesday Friend:)
