~ Color Inspiration, 10/5 & ELF Winner!! ~

Beige, Cherry, Gray, Teal

Happy Weekend!!
(well technically not for me yet.....I work Saturdays and take off Sundays & Mondays)
I seem to be much more productive on Mondays for whatever odd reason.
Is everyone on the paint sample train?
I have been asked by many readers where I get my color inspiration from .
Yes, you will find me at the Mall, and yes, you will find me at the nearest hardware store stalking paint samples!
Aren't these colors Amazing????
As soon as my 30x30 shopping ban is assured...I will be on the hunt for outfit pieces in these super fab colors!!
You are most likely reading this all curled up in your jammies, and I'm freezing driving to work, cursing the State I live in and it's weather!
Winter months are really brutal for me. I've never been one for cooler temperatures.
One of the ways I cope through Winter is to make comfort foods that warm my heart, and my belly.
Seeing I am a vegetarian, this recipe for Miso soup is my "go to", warm me up  recipe.
I'm happy to be taking part of a recipe challenge over at Rosy + Tart
where participants share their best 5 ingredient or less recipes.
There have been some great entries so far, be sure to check out the complete list. You may just find your new "go to recipe"
(I made the soup, forgot to take pics, and grabbed this one from a recipe site, but I assure you, it looks JUST like this when cooked:)

Vegetarian Miso Soup

  • 2 1/4 cups water
  • 2 ounces firm tofu, cut into 1/4 inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon light miso paste
  • 2 teaspoons barley miso paste
  • 1/2 cup fresh spinach, washed and chopped
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Ladle out about 1/2 cup of the boiling water, and reserve. Add tofu. Reduce the heat to medium, cover, and cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Add spinach or bok choy; simmer about 1 to 2 minutes, or until the greens are tender. Remove soup from heat.
Blend white miso and barley miso into reserved hot water. Stir into soup. Ladle into bowls, and garnish with scallion. Serve immediately.
