Folake @ Style Pantry

  Business meets Bestie, is the perfect way to describe my friendship with Folake.
As most of you already know, I'm a freelance writer for Style Sample Magazine, and was fortunate to write a feature article on this fabulous woman, who I now call "friend":)
From the moment I visited Folake at her website Style Pantry, I knew I would become addicted to stalking her site daily. She truly is a wealth of fashion information and inspiration!
In addition to having one of the most unique and fashion forward styles I've ever seen, Folake is also an amazingly talented woman who is the owner of her own children's clothing line called WeWe Clothing
The clothing line features styles that adults are currently wearing, just in smaller versions. How adorable is that????
They say in life..."there are no guarantees"

What was your initial goal for your blog when you first began, and how has that changed today?
Folake:

My initial goal was to blog about Fashion & Style from four different perspectives, so I invited three other ladies, who lived in different parts of the world to share their thoughts. That idea fizzled out within a month.

I carried on, on my own, and stayed true to the latest news in fashion, lookbooks of brands I admire, interviews of folks in the industry I wanted to feature on SP,  “style finds” from shopping, and general art & designs. I recently started blogging and featuring my daily style about 4 months ago. It has definitely evolved quite a bit and continues to do so. I’m really grateful to my readers.

Describe your style
Folake:

Three’s Company meets Woodstock meets Today’s fashion. 

Where do you draw your fashion inspiration from? 
Folake: I draw inspiration from the pieces I buy, the patterns and structure of the clothes, and colors.

How many hours a day/week do you spend working on your blog?
Folake: Let’s just say, it’s a full-time job.

Where is your favorite place to shop?
Folake:  I don’t have a favorite, but I’m kind of addicted to Free People and Zara

What "must haves" will you be adding to your winter wardrobe?
Folake: Winter? There is no such thing in California. Lol. I never think about “winter wardrobe”, but I do have to get a faux fur jacket I saw at Urban.

 

What is your favorite piece of clothing/jewelry and why?
Folake: Someone just asked me that the other day. It’s not possible for me to have a favorite. Each item has its own personality and means something special. That’s why I buy them in the first place.

Do you have any advice for new bloggers who are just getting started?
Folake: Put in the work, update regularly, have a super positive attitude and support your fellow bloggers. 

Where do you see yourself in 2 years?
Folake: Wherever God wants me to be. I’m grateful for my life right now. I have three beautiful kids and a super supportive husband.
