Miss Vinyl Ahoy, AKA: Suze 

 Have you ever visited a blog where you instantly felt like you were chatting with an old friend over a cup of coffee? That's the first feeling I recall having when I first discovered Suze's awesome blog!

She has a fabulous style of writing, gives open and honest opinions, has a fun fashion sense, (and it doesn't hurt that she's adorable to boot)

Suze lives in Metro Detroit, and has been blogging @ Miss Vinyl Ahoy

for the past year and a half. Her fashion icons are Zooey Dechanel and Rachel McAdams. She loves the colors purple and green, and relaxing  reading a book or playing Soduko. 

Suze's favorite time of day is when she enjoys a quiet dinner with her husband. See what I mean? shes a DOLL.

Let's get to the nitty, gritty:)

  What was your initial goal for your blog when you first began, and how has that changed today?
Suze: When I first began my blog, my sole reason was to share what I was wearing with my sister. I never really assumed I'd have followers other than her, and I'm really excited that I do! Through blogging I've made tons of friends all across the world, which I never expected. The goal is still pretty much the same- show what I'm wearing, but it's morphed into a DIY, budget friendly blog, which is very ME anyways, and I like that.

Describe your style
Suze: Retro, girlie, colorful, full of patterns, accessible and constantly evolving. (I'm sure this changes every time someone asks).

  

Where do you draw your fashion inspiration from? 
Suze: Mostly from other bloggers. I don't really read magazines, so I subscribe to hundreds of fashion blogs instead. There are so many amazing bloggers that pair things I might not ever think of, which inspires me to try new things.

 

   How many hours a day/week do you spend working on your blog?
Suze: I spend about 15-25 hours a week on my blog. It's like a part-time job! I take photos, edit them, write my posts, respond to comments, emails and messages. I also read other blogs, leave comments and send emails. I write some longer features on my blog which take longer to research and write. So, in a nutshell, it's a lot of time! :) 

 Where is your favorite place to shop?
Suze: Thrift stores like the Salvation Army or Goodwill. They have so many amazing deals and one-of-a-kind pieces that no one else will have.
Or, my go-to store, Target. I always seem to find something cute on the sale rack. I also live around the corner from one, so I'm always there.

 What "must haves" will you be adding to your winter wardrobe?
Suze: I really want a "fair-isle" style sweater and I'm also really trying to get back into some black and white clothing, because I don't own very much. So I'm in search of some of those pieces.

 

  What is your favorite piece of clothing/jewelry and why?
Suze: The vintage green dress my mom gave me. She wore it when she married my dad in the 70s. We were planning to chop off part of it to sew to my wedding dress when we realized it fit me. So I took it home that day and will never part with it.

 Do you have any advice for new bloggers who are just getting started?
Suze: It's not about the comments, followers or anything like that. Do it because you want to, because you like to do it. Once you've figured out what you want your content to be and you can begin to promote yourself, people will find you. It's not going to happen overnight either. It takes time to grow your readership and that's ok.

Where do you see yourself in 2 years?
Suze: Hopefully still in Michigan, still blogging, enjoying my life with my husband.
